With last night’s 10-8 victory, the Tennessee Smokies have set up a rubber match in their series against the Birmingham Barons at Smokies Park.
The two clubs will decide the series in tonight’s 6:15 p.m. game at Smokies Park on “Salute to Heroes Night.” This night will pay tribute to all those who have paid the ultimate price while serving our country in a pre-game ceremony starting at 5:00, presented by Miller High Life.
All veterans and current military personnel can receive free tickets by presenting a military ID, veterans ID or a D.D. Form at the designated table next to Will Call and all family members can purchase a field level ticket for $7. The ZOOperstars will be at Smokies Park to entertain the crowd during the game and stick around after game for the postgame ball toss, presented by Fast Frame.
Tennessee will send left-hander Eric Jokisch to the mound on Saturday. Jokisch is 3-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 2012 with the Smokies. Starting for the Barons is left-hander Pedro Hernandez, who is 7-2 with a 2.73 ERA in 2012.
Fans can listen to the game on the Smokies Radio Network, with the “Voice of the Smokies” Mick Gillispie entering his sixth season as Tennessee’s Director of Broadcasting. The 2010 Southern League Broadcaster of the Year is assisted by Cody Chrusciel, Roger Hoover, Jonathan Guess, and Adam King. Chrusciel and Hoover will host the Pilot Oscar-Mayer Pregame Show beginning at 6 p.m. on the Smokies Radio Network.
