The Tennessee Smokies have won their last four games, winning last night 4-2 over the Pensacola Blue Wahoos at Pensacola Bayfront Stadium.
The Smokies have played solid baseball this season against the Blue Wahoos, going 5-1 in six games against Pensacola this season.
Tennessee has made several transactions before tonight’s game. Left-handed pitcher and former Smoky Chris Rusin is back with Tennessee and will start tonight on the mound for the Smokies. Also joining Tennessee is catcher Anthony Recker from Iowa, while right-handed pitcher Dallas Beeler was promoted to Iowa and infielder Elliot Soto was placed on the disabled list.
Tonight Tennessee will start Rusin against Pensacola’s right-hander Daniel Corcino. Corcino is 8-7 with a 3.06 ERA this season for the Wahoos.
Fans can listen to the game on the Smokies Radio Network, with the “Voice of the Smokies” Mick Gillispie entering his sixth season as Tennessee’s Director of Broadcasting. The 2010 Southern League Broadcaster of the Year is assisted by Cody Chrusciel, Roger Hoover, Jonathan Guess, and Adam King. Chrusciel and Hoover will host the Pilot Oscar-Mayer Pregame Show beginning at 7:45 p.m. on the Smokies Radio Network.
