The owners of the Chicago Cubs, Tom and Laura Ricketts, visited Smokies Park yesterday and participated in a luncheon supporting United Way of East Tennessee. Below are a few photos taken by Roger C. Hoover of the Ricketts’ visit to Smokies Park. Click the image to enlarge it.
Tonight, the Smokies will play the 2nd of a five game set against the Mississippi Braves. Last night, the Smokies got a 10-5 win increasing their season high win streak to 8 games. The Smokies scored all 10 runs in the 4th and 5th innings thanks in large part to the long ball. Ryan Flaherty, Nelson Perez, and Jae Hoon Ha all homered for Tennessee in the win. With their record now at 30-16, the Smokies lead the North Division by 3.5 games over Jackson. The Smokies will send Brooks Raley(1-3, 6.02) to the mound tonight against the Atlanta Braves Class-AA affiliate.
