HUNTSVILLE 3, PENSACOLA 2: The Stars won their second straight game over the Blue Wahoos to move into third place in the North Division. Shawn Zarraga went 3-for-4 with an RBI as the Huntsville bullpen allowed just one run over five innings to preserve the victory.
Tonight’s Starters: HVL: Taylor Jungmann (9-6, 3.56 ERA) PNS: Josh Smith (7-8, 3.72 ERA)
BIRMINGHAM 1, CHATTANOOGA 0: Trayce Thompson singled home Marcus Semien in the bottom of the first inning for the game’s only run as the Barons shutout the Lookouts. Stephen McCray allowed only one hit over seven innings for his 9th win and Duke von Schamman was the hard-luck loser surrendering one run in 5.2 innings.
Tonight’s Starters: CHA: Chris Reed (3-7, 3.39 ERA) BIR: Michael Nix (3-2, 3.23 ERA)
MOBILE 4, MONTGOMERY 3: Mobile scored a run in each of the first three innings and held on to win by a run over Montgomery. Nick Evans hit a solo home run in the 6th inning that ended up being the game-winning run in the contest. Robi Estrada hit a three-run home run in the 8th inning to bring the Biscuits within a run, but they couldn’t get any closer as the BayBears evened up the series at a game apiece.
Tonight’s Starters: MTG: Enny Romero (8-4, 2.93 ERA) MOB: Bradin Hagens (9-4, 3.15 ERA)
JACKSON 4, MISSISSIPPI 3 (10): In a back-and-forth affair, Steven Proscia hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 10th inning for a Generals win. Christian Bethencourt homered twice in the game including a solo home run in the 8th for a 3-2 Braves lead. That was short lived however as Ji-Man Choi tied the game in the home half of the 8th with an RBI single.
