Smokies Pitcher Matt Loosen recently sat down with the Smokies Radio Network to discuss his development in the Arizona Fall League. In 13 starts with Tennessee last year Loosen had a 6.14 ERA over 66.0 innings to go along with 60 strikeouts. The Florida native has been getting his innings out of the bullpen in the AFL and in 5 appearances is sporting a 2.89 ERA over 9.1 innings with 10 strikeouts. Loosen said he doesn’t plan on moving to the pen, but no matter what his role is he’ll “embrace it and be ready to go.”
