The Cubs are well represented in the 22nd annual Arizona Fall League Championship game today. Dallas Beeler is getting the call and will start on hill for the Mesa Solar Sox. Beeler came into the Arizona Fall League recovering from a finger injury and has shown steady improvement throughout. He enters the championship game sporting a 4-1 record, backed by a 2.49 ERA and 9 strikeouts in 21.2 innings.
Also starting for the Solar Sox is the Cubs 2013 second overall pick Kris Bryant. Bryant is batting third and playing at the hot corner. Last year Bryant led all of college baseball in homeruns, and now has led all of fall league play in the same category with 6 jacks in just 77 at-bats. In addition, the recent college graduate has also batted a staggering .364 with 8 doubles and 17 RBIs while in Arizona.
Last but not least the Cubs Cuban prospect Jorge Soler gets the start batting seventh and playing right field. Soler originally came to Arizona nursing a leg injury that had him struggling with his timing early on. Since then Soler has turned it on and has gone from the mendoza line up to a respectable .271 to go along with six doubles and 14 RBIs.
