Even if he had retired at 40, Nolan Ryan would be venerated as one of the greatest pitchers of the modern era, if not all of baseball history. The Ryan Express rolled on well into his forties, however, and on this date in 1991, a 44-year-old Ryan, already the career leader in no-hitters in Major League Baseball, put another notch in his belt with one of the most memorable games of his career.
