Last night, Tennessee and Mississippi had a Back-and-Forth affair, but the M-Braves ultimately came out on top 6-4. With the series tied at two games apiece, the two teams will square off in the rubber match at the scheduled time of 2:00 pm
The Smokies offense did not disappoint as they were able to get RBI’s from Charlie Cutler and Dustin Geiger and Taylor Davis contributed with a pinch-hit two-run home run in the contest last night. However, it was not enough as Tennessee’s bullpen could not hold the lead allowing three runs to score en route to their 6-4 loss.
The Smokes are expected to start RHP Corey Black (2-4, 3.44), who was activated off the disabled list today. Black last faced the M-Braves on May 16 pitching 5.1 innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out six.
Mississippi will look to counter with RHP Aaron Northcraft (7-3, 2.84) who will be making his second start against Tennessee this season. He squared off against Black on May 16 pitching six innings allowing no runs on four hits while striking out five.
Fans can listen to the broadcast on the Smokies Baseball Network, with the “Voice of the Smokies” Mick Gillispie. Gillispie is assisted by Greg Young, Keith Brake, Meagan Wood, Sean Sullivan, Boomer Dangel, Andrew Clare and James Rowe. The Pilot/Oscar Meyer Pre-game Show will begin at 1:45 p.m. ET.
