In Chattanooga tonight at AT&T Field, players from both the North Division and South Division meet together in the Southern League All-Star at the scheduled time of 7:15. It will be available for fans to watch on MiLB.tv.
The Smokies have eight players named to the North Division All-Star team, however only four will be participating. P.J. Francescon, Armando Rivero, Hunter Cervenka, and Kris Bryant will be playing in the game as John Andreoli, Corey Black, and Stephen Bruno will not be there due to injuries and Rafael Lopez due to his recent promotion to Triple-A. Kris Bryant will be the lone starter for the Smokies and is starting at third base. Bryant is hitting .355 with 22 home runs and 58 RBI’s this season. Armando Rivero is 2-1, 1.56 ERA (6 ER/34.2 IP) and 10 saves, Hunter Cervenka is 2-2, 2.67 ERA (8 ER/27.0 IP) with a save, and P.J. Francescon is 7-4, 3.57 ERA (14 ER/35.1 IP), and a save.
North Division manager and Chattanooga Lookouts manager Razor Shines will likely trot out Tyler Cravy (8-1, 1.72) of the Huntsville Stars. Cravy has been one of the key players that has helped the Stars to their first half championship this season as he his the league leader in ERA and wins.
South Division manager and Mobile BayBears manager Andy Green is likely to counter with Williams Perez (3-3, 1.93) of the Mississippi Braves. Perez has helped the Braves to a 39-30 record and kept them in the playoff race until the final week of the first half, which ultimately was won by Mobile. He is a close second in league leaders in ERA.
