1928 HIST Kornsley & McCarthy

On August 1, 1932, Rogers Hornsby (pictured, left) went to bed as the second baseman and manager of the Chicago Cubs. On August 2, 1932, he went to bed unemployed.

Mick Gillispie told the story of Hornsby’s dismissal during the sixth inning of Tennessee’s game with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Saturday.
