On August 4, 1985, Tom Seaver crafted a gem against the New York Yankees in The Bronx, going the distance to reach a rare milestone. Later that night, in the third inning at Angel Stadium, Rod Carew reached a special milestone of his own.
Mick Gillispie told the story of Seaver’s 300th win and Carew’s 3000th hit during the sixth inning of Tennessee’s game with the Pensacola Blue Wahoos on Monday.
