Listen to the Rickwood Classic!

Hey Smokies Fans!

Wednesday will bring a very special day in the 2010 Smokies season. The Smokies will face the Birmingham Barons in the 2010 Rickwood Classic at historic Rickwood Field.

The game will celebrate 100 years of great baseball at Rickwood, and the Smokies and Barons will pay tribute to the ballpark’s history by wearing throwback uniforms. Tennessee will represent the 1910 Knoxville Appalachians with their uniforms, while the Barons will also suit up in 1910 gear.

There will also be an appearance by Hall-of-Famer Harmon Killebrew, who serves as the guest of honor for the 2010 Rickwood Classic. Killebrew, who spent 22 seasons in Major League Baseball, played two seasons in the Southern Association (1957 and ’58) with the Chattanooga Lookouts.
