Jae-Hoon Ha, Taylor Davis and Albert Almora each collected three hits, starter Felix Pena earned his second win on the road and the first place Smokies stretched their win streak to five straight with a 7-3 road win in Montgomery versus the Biscuits on Sunday night.

Tennessee plated seven runs in the bottom of the eighth, taking the lead on Lars Anderson’s bases-loaded walk, while outfielders Jae-Hoon Ha and Albert Almora each drove in two runs with a double and triple, respectively, to propel the Smokies to a 12-5 victory over the Huntsville Stars on Saturday evening at Smokies Stadium.

Smokies starting pitcher Pierce Johnson blanked Huntsville over four innings to extend his scoreless innings streak to 19.0 frames, while relievers Matt Loosen, Andrew McKirahan and Frank Batista combined to shut out the Stars 2-0 and keep Tennessee in first place in front of 6,556 fans on Friday night at Smokies Stadium.

Smokies outfielder Albert Almora smashed the game-winning pinch hit run-scoring double into the left-center field gap in the ninth after Huntsville’s four-run sixth inning evened the contest in the sixth to give Tennessee a 6-5 walk-off victory over the Stars on Wednesday evening at Smokies Stadium.

The Smokies wasted a six run third inning lead and fell in game two of a doubleheader 9-8 in nine innings to Gerson Montilla and the BayBears at Hank Aaron Stadium in Mobile on Sunday night. Montilla hit the game-winning home run in the ninth inning of the scheduled seven inning game.

Blue Wahoos starter Ben Lively faced the minimum through seven innings and took a no-hitter into the eighth inning, while catcher Ross Perez drove in four runs as Pensacola held off a late Smokies comeback attempt to top Tennessee 6-4 in front of a crowd of 5,068 on Thursday evening at Smokies Stadium.
