Hey Smokies Fans!
Greetings from Huntsville, Ala., the site of the 2010 Southern League All-Star Game. Six Tennessee Smokies are present for the game, including three starters: Blake Lalli, Robinson Chirinos, Tony Campana. Steve Clevenger, Ryan Buchter, and Luke Sommer are also on the North Division team.
On Sunday, the players met with fans and league personnel in a “Meet and Greet” at the Holiday Inn in downtown Huntsville. Monday will feature a luncheon with former big leaguer Jay Johnstone, followed by batting practice and a special Miracle League exhibition game. The All-Stars will assist the Miracle League players through the game. The Miracle League’s mission is to provide opportunities for all children to play baseball regardless of their ability. The exhibition game starts at 5:30 p.m.
I’ll join the Huntsville Stars Radio Network for the broadcast of the game, which will begin at 8 p.m. ET. You can listen to the broadcast here online, or WTKI 1450 AM/92.9 FM in the Huntsville listening area.
The Smokies are well represented at the 2010 Southern League All-Star Game, and it should be a fun night seeing them shine among the league’s best.
Thanks for listening, and be sure to listen in on Monday night!
