The Cubs took one of the elite hitters to come out of college in the past several drafts, Kris Bryant, with the No.2 overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft. Seven of the next nine selections were pitchers including Kent State ace Tyler Skulina and Tennessee hurler Zach Godley.
